Wild life includes Jackals, Himalayan thar, yaks, musk deer’s and birds. They make this trail one of the best trails for everyone to tick off their bucket list.
This trek also offers one with the opportunity to celebrate some of the largest high mountains festivals, if you are there at the right time and the right place. Most of these festivals are celebrated for three days in the monasteries of Tengboche, Chiwong and many others in the Khumbu Region. This trail of Everest Trek starts with the flight to Lukla and with our visit to Kala Pattar with the panoramic views of Mountains.
Despite being in the Himalayan territory of the Khumbu, individuals of all fitness levels can finish the Everest Base Camp Trekking . It is a moderate trek and you don’t need past trekking background to complete the Everest Base Camp Trekking. Thus, you will for the most part, be trekking on even/slightly hilly terrains. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu (TIA), our representative from One Life The Adventure Team will be there to pick you up. You will be transferred to the hotel by private vehicle. We will discuss our trip and you have time for refreshment. In the evening we are together again for a welcome dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant with a cultural program.
After breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up for half a day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley is on to the UNESCO protected world heritage site. You will have your lunch in the restaurant with the view of Stupa then you back to hotel. You will meet your trek leader and discuss the trek and make last minutes arrangements.
Early morning wakes up and transfer to domestic airport with pack breakfast or after breakfast, depends on your flight schedule. Then you will experience the flight to the real himalaya with the panoramiac view of Gaurisankar range, Shisapangba range including Mount Everest in your half an hour flight. When you arrive in Lukla you will join the others like porters and assistant guides, manage the arrangements of your backpack and begin our trek to Phakding. We already start notice the fluttering Tibetan prayer flags. You will enjoy the trek downhill till Thadokoshi with the view of Khumbi-hyula and the snowcapped mountain Kusum kangaroo. The trek will continue to Phakding through Ghat with the view of monastery and some mane walls.
The day begin with crossing the river Dudhkoshi and head towards the Benker through Tok Tok with gradual walking. We climb up till Monjo where the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park is. Wecross the river again and again to go to Namchebazaar via Hillary bridge. Till Hillary Bridge the trail goes gradually up and down then it goes step up till Namchebazaar. If the weather permits, we can see the view of Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse on the way. Namchebazaar is the transit point for different trek in Everest region and the big marketplace of Sherpa community as well as Tibetan. Overnights stay in Namche Bazar.
The day begin with spectacular view of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Amadablam and many more mountains of himalaya. After breakfast we head up to Khumjung village and monastery via Everest view lodge which is located in the altitude of 3900mtrs and it’s really useful for acclimatization. We visited the place where the Yeti skull still exists. We back to Namchebazaar through the Khumjungsecondary School whose founder is Sir Edmund Hillary himself and Syangbochen where the highest air strip located on. Some of the mountains on view today are kwangde (6,11m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kangtega (6,782m),Nuptse (7,861m), Lhotse (8,516), Ama Dablam (6,812m) and of course, mount Everest (8,848m).
The day begin on the flat trail with the view of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Amadablam, Mount Thamserku, Mount Kongde and so on. From Kyangjuma the trail goes descent to the Dhudhkoshiriver and ascent to Tengboche through beautiful Rhododendron Forest. On the way we will see one more beautiful snowcapped mountain Kangtega. We visit monastery, which is the biggest monastery in khumbu region. Internet cafe and bakery cafe are also the attractions of tengboche. Overnight in Tengboche.
After breakfast, the trail descends down from Tengboche, through the rhododendron forest to Debuche andcrossing a bridge over the raging Imja Khola (River). The trail for Dingbuche follows the climbing route ofIsland peak and the face of Amphu Laptsa. The trail goes down to the river again and climbs up to Dingboche with boundry of stone walls and the view of famous trekking peak called Island peak. It is gateway to Chukung and farther Beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area and Hinko Valley. This is the highest Sherpa settlement in the khumbu Region. Ama Dablam views from here are spectacular as dramatic as we will arrive at dingboche in time for lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax with a book or gaze at the surrounding mountains. Overnight in Dingboche.
On this day you may have full day rest or there are some places where you can go for a day hike; up to Chhukung(4,730m) for acclimatization (point of climbing famous Island peak) or climb up to Nanjajung Peak about two hours offer view of Imjatse Valley with Dingbuche village and Mt.Makalu(8,463m), AmaDablam, Island peak etc. this trip is a 3.5 to 5 hours round trip and the ascending altitude on this hile will help our bodies prepare for the high altitudes ahead.
After your complete acclimatization, the trail heading you gradually climb up until Dughla offering stunning views of Tabuche and Cholatse. From Dughla trail directly up to the Khumbu Glacier for an hour, then left into the memorial area before reaching the village of Labuche.
From here, it appers ama dablam is rising directly from the valley floor. The Trail continues on to thokla pass, where the ascent is challenging. Again, a photographer’s paradise as there are panoramic views of nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse shar and Few other 7,000- plus meter peaks. After crossing the pass, we reached Lobuche. Not a very attractive settlement in itself, but the scenery surrounding it is beautiful and dramatic. In this stage the effects of the altitude will be kicking in and you can expect colder nights.
After breakfast the trek continues gently climb and sometime direct ascent to nearby glacier. The trail goes to Gorakshep is rocky and windy, but it offers the good view of Mt. Pumori and there are beautiful views of Everest Base camp and glacier with scenic view. After lunch, we ready for us adventure to the targeted destination and we continue our trek towards the Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Icefall, the path from here can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier, the walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air, the walk passes through rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. If you are during the high expedition season have felt like city. It takes 2-3 hours to get to base camp and after a grand time here go back over the journey to Gorakshep. Note: - please be aware trekking groups do not go right into the base camp where expeditions are set up. This is so we do not disturb the climbers’ activity or risk their health. (We don’t want to give them our colds and flu when they embark on such an epic journey), but we get a good view of all the ongoing activity.
Early in the morning climb up 2 hours on our pace to Kalapatthar for 360-degree view of the mountain peaks. When reaching the top, you will feel joyful as you achieve the moment that you have been dreaming, since the planning of your journey. A small rocky peak “Kalapatthar” offer you beyond imagination as the Everest looks amazing, the panoramic view from this spot is something to cherish, and you feel it’s worthy to hard climb up here and to feel at the top of the world, and you can see Khumbu glacier, Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier and many mountainsscenery; Pumari (7,145m), Lingtren (6,695m), Khumbutse (6,623m), Changtse (7,550m), Nupse (7879m), Everest itself etc. After breakfast in Gorakshep trek down to Dhugla then go staying at Pheriche.
Today you can feel easy heading downhill to a lower elevation from Pheriche. The walk is pleasant all the way to Tengboche. You can see very old pangboche Sherpa village, and further down to Tengboche is one of the most beautiful places in the Himalaya the first thing that comes to your eyes is the big Monastery or Gumba, then the large field with campsites and teahouses, lodges beneath the soaring majestic, gorgeous peak Ama Dablam, Everest, Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards northeast and morepeaks all around.
After breakfast the trail goes down through forest with pine, Jupiter, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees with a great memory after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River trek onwards to the Sanasa and re-tracks to amchebazar. After Namchebazar, the trail goes step down to the Hillary Bridge and we get Monjo after crossing Dudhkoshi river couple of times on gradual walk.
Today is the last day of the trek. The trail goes gradully up and down. We will remind again enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village until Lukla. You’ll have time to wander around the areas and the guide will re-confirm your flight ticket and enjoy the last celebratory dinner with your crew.
Normally, the flight to Kathmandu is always in the morning due to the wind in the afternoon; sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather. Anyway, we will fly back to Kathmandu and drive to the hotel, there you relax after a long strenuous trek and take back your breath and rest at your hotel for the rest of the day.
After the long trek you need a day for relaxation and refreshment. You can go for a massage and buy souvenirs. We meet in the evening for farewell dinner.
We will transfer you to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination. You are supposed to leave 3 hours earlier than your scheduled flight time.
